Around 3 am my son woke up screaming.

He’s been struggling with an ear infection for over a week now. He’s 6 months old and the started him on amoxicillin and you know what?

…It did not work one bit.

The poor guy has been in constant pain for over a week.

The doctor decided to try a different antibiotic. They really don’t know what will work.

There is an important marketing lesson here.

Doctors need to test. There are a few things they think will work but the only way to know for sure is to try it and analyze the results.

It’s the same way in our marketing.

We need to always be testing and tracking our results.

I launched a new quiz funnel for a client last week and the results are fine, but I’m nowhere near done. I have a list of things to test and I know over time I will be able to continuously improve conversions on every stage of the funnel.

  • More Leads
  • More sales
  • Lower cost

When that’s done, the stage will be set to dominate the market.

This is how I do it… I take one thing I think can be improved, this can range from a different headline to a radically different page layout and do a split-test.

Every new visitor will randomly see one of the two pages and I track the results.

When I have a winner, I test it against the next idea.
